You know, it might be the original Super Mario Bros. movie. Or I just thought it was weird. Can remember. TMNT3 is a good one. Masters of the Universe with Dolph Lundgren & Courtney Cox was a masterpiece & you can’t tell me different to this day.
The SMB movie is a good one. I also wonder what leads to this realization...is it a movie being so bad it's unmistakable, or is it our taste developing as we get a little older? Most people I've talked to about this were around the same age when they learned, but the movies they learned it from are truly bad.
So I was 9 when I saw SMB & I remember not liking it but that might’ve been because it was so different from the game. Or maybe my older brother & parents influenced me? The other thing is I have a very low bar for movies. Low expectations mean it’s harder to be disappointed. If I can’t find some joy in a movie I want to like, that means it really sucks.
I think there's definitely a TMNT/Power Rangers divide, based on age. It's interesting how many times they've tried to revive TMNT, but never really successfully tapped into Millennial nostalgia. Maybe the Seth Rogen movie will do that. There was also the Shredder's Revenge game last year, which got good reviews, but didn't seem to really blow up.

My older siblings definitely swayed me on certain movies. If they liked or disliked something, I assumed I should, too.
